Golden Hour Photoshoot in Ortigia

Capture your Mediterranean memories with a professional photographer

I recently had the pleasure of photographing Apoorva and Sai, who reached out while planning their European honeymoon. Ortigia, a historic island in Siracusa, was their last stop before heading back to Los Angeles, and they wanted to wrap up their trip with a relaxed and romantic photo session.

We met in the early evening, just before sunset, and wandered through Ortigia’s narrow streets, where the centuries-old houses and potted plants lining the walls created the perfect backdrop to capture their honeymoon moments. They posed so naturally with very little direction from me, and at one point, they even started dancing in the middle of the street. It was such a fun moment to photograph and, honestly, those turned out to be some of the best photos in the whole collection.

After the shoot, Apoorva wrote:

“The photos came out beautifully. Thank you so much for taking the time to do the shoot with us, and to edit the photos (and for sharing so many). Sai and I had such a fun time that evening, and now we get to have these photos to take us back to our honeymoon.”

That kind of message always stays with me. Because for many people who come here, this trip is more than a holiday. They often come from places where sunshine is rare, the days are full of work, stress, and life can feel rushed and repetitive. Being here in Sicily gives them the chance to slow down, feel free, and reconnect with the lighter side of life.

For me, these shoots are about freezing that moment. The ease, the joy, the feeling that life is happening at just the right pace. The photo session becomes a highlight of the trip, something personal and meaningful to hold onto long after the plane has landed back home.

What to expect when you book a shoot with me

Whether you’re visiting solo, as a couple, or with friends or family, these sessions are meant to feel easy and enjoyable. No stiff poses or pressure to perform, just a walk together through some of the most charming parts of Ortigia with plenty of gentle direction and space to be yourself.

Here’s how it usually works:

1. Get in touch

Send me a message on social media or email with your travel dates and a short note about what you’re looking for. Every shoot is a bit different, so I’ll send you a custom quote based on your preferences.

2. Planning your shoot

Once we confirm the date, I’ll share a few tips on what to wear and what to bring. Flowy clothes, sunglasses, hats, or small accessories always look great and add a personal touch to your photos.

In the summer months, Ortigia can get quite hot, so it’s a good idea to bring water and wear something light and breathable. Many people grab a cold granita or a spritz before or after the session. It’s all part of the experience.

3. Shooting day

We’ll meet at our chosen location and take a slow walk through the island’s most photogenic corners. We usually stop at three or four different spots and take our time. You can bring a change of clothes if you like. More outfits mean more variety and more photos at the end. Just keep in mind that outfit changes are usually possible in café or bar restrooms, or in quiet corners of the street where there’s a bit of privacy.

4. After the shoot

Once the session is over, I’ll carefully select and edit the best photos. You’ll receive your final gallery within 1 to 2 weeks in high resolution via a Google Drive link.

Most people go for the 1-hour session, which includes 10 edited photos or the more relaxed 2-hour session, which includes 20 edited photos. Longer sessions such as half or full day are also available if you’d like a more in-depth shoot or have something special in mind.

Every package includes preparation help, location guidance, outfit tips, and a relaxed and personal shooting experience. I often end up including more photos than expected. If there are extra great moments, I’m always happy to share them.

Ready to book your shoot?

These photos are more than souvenirs. They are a way to remember how it felt to be fully alive. To slow down, enjoy the moment, and take home something personal and lasting from your time in Sicily.
