Spooky and Fun Halloween Illustrations

October flew by faster than a witch on a broomstick. But what a great month it’s been. Of course, there were a few bigger client projects that kept me on my toes, exciting but definitely a challenge. Still, October felt great because I was busy working on lots of autumn-inspired passion projects, exploring Halloween themes, and experimenting with colour and design. Working on these pieces felt like a creative breath of fresh air.

This year’s autumn illustrations became my little escape. Living in Sicily means that, apart from a few rainy days and cooler evenings, it still feels like summer. No pumpkin spice lattes, no foggy park walks, no chilly mornings. I do miss those London autumns when I would grab a hot drink and wander through parks covered in golden leaves. But luckily, I’ve got a vivid imagination, some good scented candles, and a hand soap that smells exactly like October. So I’m doing just fine.

All these illustrations were made directly on my iPad. No sketches, just straight into vector lines, colour, and flow, like always. It’s fast, fun, and a bit addictive. Though I have to admit, after a few years hunched over it, I finally joined a gym. Time to fix those creative back pains before the Christmas season arrives.

This year, I wanted to keep things lighthearted. A little spooky, yes, but nothing too dark. More fun haunted house than actual nightmare. You know what I mean. Each design carries that feeling of laughter, colour, and warmth that makes October so magical.

Looking back at the work now, I can honestly say it made me happy to create them. There’s something calming about sitting with my tablet in hand, music playing, and watching a blank canvas slowly turn into something full of life. These autumn passion projects reminded me again why I love what I do. It’s not just about making cool visuals, it’s about creating little joyful worlds that can bring a smile or spark a feeling in someone else.

And even though I’ll miss the smell of pumpkin spice and those late-night drawing sessions with spooky playlists, I’m ready for what’s next. Slowly but surely, I’m switching into Christmas mode. I’m already looking forward to diving into the festive mood and all the cosy feelings that come with it.

Before I fully trade the pumpkins for snowflakes, I wanted to share a bit of what I’ve created this October. I hope you enjoy these pieces as much as I enjoyed bringing them to life.

Wishing you a very happy and hopefully not too spooky Halloween.
