La dolce vita

I was very lucky to spend two amazing weeks in Sicily this July. This was the second time I visited this beautiful island but at this time I stayed in a smaller city, Syracuse, a small town on the east coast instead of Palermo, which is the capital of Sicily.

Syracuse is famous for it’s ancient Greek heritage and the well known fashion brand, Dolce & Gabbana who did a huge show here a few days before I arrived.

This place is not for those who are on a diet, the locals love eating and they can talk about food forever. If they like you, they will feed you until you explode! I was eating gelato and pasta almost every day and probably put on 5 kilos. Oooops! But at least I was living the real dolce vita.

We visited 4 different beaches and the water was crystal clear everywhere. You have to be careful with the fish under the water, because they can bite you! People are very friendly and they never rush. It’s a totally different world from the UK.
